| Severe corrosive environments in urea plants
demand corrosion resistant materials. Sumitomo
developed 2 kinds of corrosion resistant alloys,
HR3ELM and DP28W, which meets the demands of
urea plants, especially urea stripper, condenser,
decomposer and reactor.
HR3ELM has excellent corrosion resistance
in urea-carbanate solutions due to extremely
low C with 25%Cr, and balanced Ni with Mo
lead fully austenitic structure.
DP28W is a super duplex stainless steel
containing 28%Cr, which demonstrates corrosion
resistance under urea environments as mentioned
above. Sensitively on sigma phase precipitation
during welding is extremely low compared
with general duplex stainless steels. Tensile
strength is high, which allows use in urea
plants. |
