| Centrifugally cast tubes have been used
mainly as reformer and cracking tubes operating
at high temperature in ethylene plants. Centrifugally
cast tubes, however, are not available in
long sizes; this results in many welded joints
which may cause failures. In addition, repair
of welds is difficult due to the deterioration
in ductility.
Our HK4M and HPM wrought tubes have been
developed to eliminate these disadvantages
by means of low C while adding Ti, Al,
Zr and Mo and high temperature solution
treatment.
Sumitomo HK4M and HPM’s properties
are characterized as follows;
- Long and small
diameter size tubes are available
- Internally
finned tubes are available
- Ductility
is excellent and repair of welds is
possible
