New Super Martensitic - Ferritic Stainless Steel has been developed for HPHT applications.January 5, 2012: Sumitomo Metals has developed a new Martensitic-Ferritic stainless steel OCTG, SM17CRS-125 (Super 17Cr) which features excellent corrosion resistance up to 200 degC, whereas under similar conditions Super 13Cr steels suffer both SCC and high corrosion rates. SMI Production at the new OCTG mill in Brazil VSB has started!November 7, 2011: Vallourec & Sumitomo Tubos do Brasil Ltda (VSB) has completed most of the planned construction and has been granted API Q1 and ISO9001 certifications. SMI will start supplying 9-5/8” Range-3 CRA for Saudi Aramco’s challenging projectsJuly 8th, 2011 : SMI has been awarded, by Saudi Aramco, the supply of Corrosion Resistant Alloy for their high profile Arabiyah and Hasbah offshore gas development projects. Over 200,000ft of 9-5/8" OD CRA tubing (SM2535 & SM2550) in Range 3 length will be supplied to Saudi Aramco starting from Autumn this year: the first ever mass production order of Range 3 large OD CRA.
